Ryo Katsuo. World famous Tennis prodigy, since picking up a racket at the age of four while in the care of his father, Kyo Katsuo, one day at a country club. An unusual player, most notably of which his backhanded technique not commonly used by most professionals, but giving him a slight edge in match ups. However, this is not the only secret to his success. Years of strict practise was called for, as over looked by his father with a sharp eye. Running, swinging, and, less importantly to Ryo, academics were to be his only priorities in life. His life was heavily monitored and he was kept within his family's large estate in Japan, only let out to match opponents in tournaments and the occasional exhibition match. He was certainly, not unbeatable, with a whole quarter of his matches ending up in losses, but with a 75% win rate, he was nothing to laugh at, especially for his age. His final goal, as outlined by his father, was to win a gold medal at the next olympics. However, despite his skill, he was refused entry consistantly, his father working himself into hysterical rages at this, while his quiet son looked on. It was, interestingly enough, that during one of these fits, the elder Katsuo suffered a heart attack in front of his only son. Ryo merely looked on while his father's life drained away in front of him, waiting until it was all gone. Now, he no longer needed to play the game he'd felt cursed to play, since he was a child. With this sudden surge of freedom, however, came a new problem: what would he do now? None of his studies had resulted in any path that spoke out to him, he was not interested in science or mathematics, or literature. Resigning himself, he arranged to be enrolled into Gear King Academy, being placed into Class A after easily acing the entrance exam. From there on out, he merely continues his life, studying and excercising, as if nothing had changed...
